Video Templates

Learn how to use and create video templates to save time and maintain consistency.

Using Video Templates

Video templates allow you to create consistent videos quickly by reusing styles, formats, and layouts. This guide will show you how to use existing templates and create your own custom templates in Vidsue.

Understanding Video Templates

A video template in Vidsue is a pre-configured video project that includes:

  • Predefined visual styles
  • Layout and structure
  • Subtitle styling
  • Suggested character types
  • Specific aspect ratios
  • Brand elements (optional)

Templates save you time and help maintain a consistent look across multiple videos.

Template Best Practices

Creating Effective Templates

Follow these guidelines when creating templates:

  1. Focus on structure: Create a clear beginning, middle, and end
  2. Use placeholders: Add descriptive placeholder text that explains what content should go in each section
  3. Keep it flexible: Design templates that work for various topics within a category
  4. Consider your audience: Create templates appropriate for specific platforms and viewer expectations
  5. Test thoroughly: Try your template with different content to ensure it works well in all scenarios

Template Categories to Consider

Different video purposes require different templates:

ExplainerEducational flowQuestion, Explanation, Example, Summary
TestimonialStory-basedChallenge, Discovery, Results, Recommendation

Using Templates for Brand Consistency

Templates help maintain brand identity across multiple videos:

Creating Brand Templates

  1. Start with your brand guidelines (colors, fonts, tone)
  2. Create templates that incorporate these elements
  3. Include your logo placement, brand colors, and preferred subtitle styles
  4. Save multiple variations for different video types
  5. Share these templates with your team

Template Versioning

As your brand evolves:

  1. Update your templates with new brand elements
  2. Create new versions rather than overwriting old ones
  3. Track which version was used for which videos
  4. Consider seasonal or campaign-specific template variations

Common Questions About Templates

Q: Can I combine elements from different templates? A: Currently, you need to select one template to start with, but you can customize it with elements inspired by other templates.

Q: How many custom templates can I create? A: The number of custom templates depends on your subscription plan. Free accounts have limited template creation, while paid plans offer more.

Q: Can I import templates from other platforms? A: Vidsue doesn't currently support importing templates from other video creation platforms, but you can recreate them manually.

Q: How do I update all videos if I change a template? A: Changes to templates don't automatically update existing videos. You'll need to apply template changes to each video individually.
